I hope you see the joy in my work that starts with a lump of clay and ends with an artistic creation.
Growing up in rural Montana, I was inspired by nature and loved to draw and paint.
Beginning as an art major at Montana State University, I always pursued many artistic endeavors. But when I discovered clay in the Junior High School where I work, I found the perfect canvas for my nature-inspired designs. With ceramics, I not only carve the natural life around me into my work, but I also imbue each piece with personality and heart that is unique to such a hands-on art form.
The endless variety of possibilities with clay continually excites me. I enjoy using many different decorating techniques to give my pieces individuality. Being a part of the artist community at Edina Art Center allows me to pursue my artistic vision. While my pottery is diverse in its range, the theme that runs through my pieces is a love of nature and design. I hope you see the joy in my work that starts with a lump of clay and ends with an artistic creation.
